Do you know if WI FFI and NREMT-B would be okay?

Only a guess here. National Registry EMT would probably work, but I doubt it for the FFI. Check with HFD or TCFP's transfer page.

Plan on 3-4 trips down to Houston during the process. Last year's test was on July 31 and the first class was scheduled to start October 7.

    Default HFD Hiring

Word on the street ( friend at HFD after Chief Boriskie visited his station) is that the recently established non-certified list and this upcoming fast track list might be the last at the current pace of hiring HFD has been under the last few years.

This sort of coincides with rumors of a hiring freeze in fiscal year 2009.

Call HFD Recruiting. (but I don't think Ohio is IFSAC...and I know that a Texas certified firefighter usually has FFI,FFII, Haz Aware, Haz OPS)

No, it won't work. But yes Ohio is an IFSAC state.

get your IFSAC seals. In my class, they had a guy from RI, New Hampshire and other places.

But call the recruiting office to be sure. And, if you are interested, let them know that you are from out of town. They might work something out but I doubt it.

Start running to get in shape also if you are even thinking about it

Got a 100. But I'm getting promoted in the next month so I think I'll stay here and see how that goes. Maybe try next year. Told you that test was easy. What number are you?
