HFD has announced another Fast Track class. Application deadline July 25th, and the test is August 28th. Must be a certified firefighter/EMT with 15 college hours.

Only a guess here. National Registry EMT would probably work, but I doubt it for the FFI. Check with HFD or TCFP's transfer page.

Plan on 3-4 trips down to Houston during the process. Last year's test was on July 31 and the first class was scheduled to start October 7.

HFD Hiring
Word on the street ( friend at HFD after Chief Boriskie visited his station) is that the recently established non-certified list and this upcoming fast track list might be the last at the current pace of hiring HFD has been under the last few years.
This sort of coincides with rumors of a hiring freeze in fiscal year 2009.

get your IFSAC seals. In my class, they had a guy from RI, New Hampshire and other places.
But call the recruiting office to be sure. And, if you are interested, let them know that you are from out of town. They might work something out but I doubt it.

Yeah I took it. I 'think' I did pretty good. Kinda funny test if you ask me. Will find out what we got on the 25th. Good job BBW...!!!

Funny as far as, 3rd or 5th grade math and reading comp. funny. I too think I atleast scored a 98 if not a 100.
