I am wondering if anyone knows of city fire departments that have their own training programs that they will put new recruits through. For example, I have heard that the Oakland Police have such a program but have not found any cities so far that have a similar program for firefighters.
Secondly, I am wondering which cities in California would be most likely to hire people who are fresh out of the fire academy (assuming that none have their own training programs for recruits), I am from California and have lived here (both northrn and southern) and would like to stay somewhere in the state but I am open to working anywhere in the Bay Area, Southern California and possibly Sacramento / Central Valley area. I would greatly appreciate any advice on this, I figure that the larger cities would be more likely to hire people with less experience but I could be wrong. Thanks
