It's going to depend on what type of equipment you're looking for. NO dealer has all the VALUE lines of equipment. That is high quality/capable at a reasonable price. Anyone here can name you the high price (or over priced) brand names and also those that are high value. My theory in spending ANY FD$ is to buy VALUE (bang for the buck), whether spending $ raised from 14 soup suppers or grant $ from the Feds.

Stretch the grant $ every inch you, may never have them again.

Spending the grant $ is one heck of a lot more work than you'd ever think.

    Default Iowa Dealers

Heiman Fire Equipment, Fire Safety USA (Rochester, MN), Ed M. Feld are all good dealers to work with.

Heiman Fire Equipment, Ed M. Feld, Fire Safety USA (Rochester, MN) are all good. If Nomex works, Fire Safety USA has a great deal right now. Check www.firesafetyusa.com.

Thats interesting. We just bought head to toe turnouts, wildland gear, bags, etc from the, and were very happy. Customer service has been very good, and our issues with sizing (our fault completely) have been take care of no charge.

Our department has also done quite a bit of business with MES over the last couple of years and could not be happier with the customer service we have received. They have always come through for us.

While not in Iowa (I'm in Idaho), we are dealing with MES for the first time.

We are buying Scott SCBA's and Morning Pride turnouts from them.

They (MES) were extremely aggressive with their pricing and their customer service has been top notch. So far we are very happy.

Same thing with us. We bought SCBA and Cairns gear from them last year and I couldn't be happier.

Can you tell us the problems? I know my sales guy will most likely bend over backwards to help. PM if you want, or bbowers@mozarks.com

I’m glad to here that someone is getting service form MES
We have been overcharged thousands of dollars when we purchased new PPE for the entire dept. Unfortunately, the chief at the time paid them before checking to see if everything was correct. They initially denied having over charged us until we sent a copy of our proof. Then they refused to refund the money and would only issue a credit for the amount. Giving into their game our chief decided to try and order more PPE gear with that credit through a new rep that never placed the order. Now the sales rep never returns our calls and management their talks in circles and tells us that we have to contact our sales rep to handle it. They do admit that we still have a credit with them. After talking to other departments in our area who have had the same problems we know our situation is not isolated.

I regret to hear you are dissatisfied with the service MES Mid America provided both you and your fire department. I am the sales manager for this location and would sure like to hear your concerns, and will do everything in my power to remedy your situation. It is our practice to provide the best possible customer service to our customers and would extend this same level of service to your fire department. Until now I was not aware of any issues in Iowa, however, now that I know I will gladly address them. Please call us at 800-228-9014
