Question Any word on AFG reductions

1199 and 10 questions are flowing, congrats to all.

Along with the 10 Q's, has anyone gotten a cost reduction notice for SCBA or anything else? I know last year SCBA was tight at $5,000 any news for this year?

Sly, might be gettin' time to freshen up the old reductions link you've been keeping alive.

SCBA looks to be $5,250 this year. Haven't heard about anything else yet.

The only reduction we saw was for 7Stones' cascade / air fill system snafu. I'll keep an eye on the forums and update accordingly.

Kurt posted a $175,000 Ambulance application with no reduction, but I'll be surprised if that doesn't get reduced before it's all over with, unless a separate line item for equipment is included.

I recently had a $5150 per set SCBA grnat pass muster and 10Qs without a reduction so it does look like they raised it slightly.

We are new to this grant program and were not aware that other things could be requested along with the ambulance. We were hoping to purchase a medium duty as most of the calls we have are on back roads that haven't been paved and the width of about a car and 1/2 Certainly could have also used the items you listed above.

Did you already accept the reduction? You may want to give me shout before doing so.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of ambulance are you trying to get that costs $175k? I'm not doubting or questioning, just curious since our local EMS service just bought rigs on GMC 4500 chassis for under $100K

We were looking at a C 4500 we were hoping for the on spot chains and a few other add on's but as we are very new to all this grant stuff we didn't word it right. Guess this is why those seminars are good If you don't mind me asking Catch22, where did you purchase from? I would be interrested as we seem to be quoted a lot higher than yours.

They got them from Wheeled Coach. If I remember right, they came with the On-Spots, as well. They're nothing fancy, but they're well-built and optioned out rigs.

Once you get to pricing and bidding, I'd bet you'll be surprised on what some of the other companies out there can do. Some of those smaller companies can surprise you.

$40,000 has been the cap in the past for Complete Air Fill. Very doable for that price, as well.

    Talking

Grandma: We are in the process of speccing a new E-450 type III as we speak. We have been looking at a very well equipped truck from PL Custom with estimates in the 135k -140 k range with many custom and crew safety features. Things like all LED lighting ,onspot chains, custom cabinet layout to fit out equipment needs, such as storage for our Zoll Autopulse and many other specialized things relating to severe northern climate rural location on an island..
They have one of the best warrantee packages available such as lifetime structural on the body , ten year paint and corrosion, 10 year 100k mile on entire electrical system. They are worth checking out !
Good luck in your search & if we can answer any questions , ask away.
I have many pages of specs if you need them.

Received my 10q's on Friday 6-29. My 2007 1199A was updated with the 2008 application number. Things are looking good for airpacks. My Grants Management Specialist was on vacation last week, so I will follow this week up on any pricing issues.

Our AFG request was trimmed by $1700.
The ten questions have been answered and we are just waiting for any news.

Ah, that makes sense. It looks like the quick attack truck was a popular first round award. Congratulations to the winners!
