Default Akron Fire Calc for Iphone

Hey guys before Akron discontinued their Firecalc, they also offered a PC version of the Firecalc (which I still have) Does anyone know if there is a way to implement the Firecalc.exe program from the PC to the iphone?

I think it will be a great idea.

I don't have an iPhone and I haven't seen Firecalc, so I'm speaking without a whole lot of knowledge. I'll say what I do know.

I doubt there is a way to run the program in its native format on the iPhone. You would need to develop a version of the software specifically for the iPhone.

However, the iPhone does have a web browser and supports JavaScript, so if the FireCalc calculations could be built into a Javascript-enable webpage, that might be a viable option. I've put together several Javascript calculators on webpages here:

You could try loading one of those onto your iPhone to see if they're functional. If so, I might be able to develop a Javascript version of Firecalc, depending on how complex it is. If you could send me Firecalc I can take a look and let you know how feasible it would be.

Also, it looks like they're bringing the FireCalc back right now (summer 2008):

I have one of the original Fire Calc hand-helds. Still use when doing sprinkler and standpipe calcs during plan reviews. But a PC version would be the bomb. Any idea where I could find one?

Didn't the original Fire Calcs come with a book that gave the actual formulas used? For that matter one could easily make an Excel program complete any of the Fire Calcs functions.

Does someone have the formulas that are programed in the FireCalc? I could build an Excel file from there.
