    Default Water Rescue Funding

I have been searching quite some time for some water rescue funding sources. However, I haven't been able to find any. I'm hoping some of our grant gurus here at FH can help me out. My dept is 100% volunteer right on the Ohio River. I'm looking for some funding for both training and some equipment purchasing. If any of you guys could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Our Local Sheriff has been getting Waterway Safety money for years. He accidently let it slip a couple years ago. It is Federal Dollars. My town is in the process of trying to figure out how we can pry some of it away from him because he doesn't spend it all on Waterways.

don't know what it is specifically. We aren't even sure what Federal agency provides. Sheriff says it amounts to just over $100,000 of his budget every year (very low population county, 10-12000 people).

Money is supposed to be used for law enforcement and rescue on navigable waterways.

I think you are looking for this: http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/news/mar0...2/Default.aspx

AFG funds water rescue equipment also if properly justified. I have gotten several through them and I have also used private foundation grants for Swift Water Rescue and Ice Rescue equipment.
