    Default iron on letter removal

I am a professional pyrotechnician, and on the waiting list for the town i live in volunteer fire dept. I just recieved a newer used set of turn out gear with iron on reflective letters on the back. I need to get these off the back because it looks tacky. is there any easy way or am i just out of luck.
    thanks

Some can be removed after heating with an iron set on medium heat until the adhesive softens up enough to pull them off.

Even after they are removed, the shadow of them will likely remain on the shell if they have been on there for any length of time.
