Anyone have the timeline on this years SAFER? Peer review? Possible 1st round dates?

Peer Review finished Friday along with the review of the remaining AFG apps. According to someone that I met at the Central NY convention on Friday that just got back, there were some trucks in the mix also. And he mentioned that many of the mistakes that KB and I harp on in our workshops were prevalent (proofreading, not following directions, not answering questions, etc, etc).

Hopefully this means that things get back into full swing on all fronts with 2007 FP & SAFER and 2008 AFG & SAFER.

Amen to that. Had a long conversation with a reviewer today form AFG and heard the same lament of mistakes bc79er. All the more reason that many of you need to get in a smeinar and avoid these costly mistakes. You only have two years left on AFG so mistakes are going to be very costly and competition will be especially high this year given the economy.

Any best guesses, rumors, or speculation on SAFER awards for this year?

Handful of 1199As and questions are out so awards should be picking up soon, same with more 1199As.

Does anyone know are the recent rounds of 2007 safer awards part of the supplemental funding to applicants who were previously given dear johns or is that yet to come? I would assume there are a higher than average number of departments turning down money.

I don't know if they've started those or not. I know of 1 1199A still hanging from 2007 that hasn't been announced and was never DJ'd. Issue with a prior award to clean up. But I'm sure they'll start those soon.
