Default Navy / Marine Corps Firefighting (Help!)

Can anyone provide web links for the Federal Fire Department (speicifcally Navy and Marine Corps fire fighting)? I'm exploring this as a possibility, but I can't find any official sites thru searching.

I'm in San Diego, CA - if that helps. To my knowledge, my best chance would be going with MCAS Miramar or NAS North Island. Anything else, though would be great, too!

Camp Pendleton has the largest base FD, USMC wise, on the west coast. Medic would help. I'm on active duty there right now, could dig up some info from my buds at the crash crew.

I assume you are talking about civilian jobs and not military? Anyways, your best bet is Miramar as they will be hiring for a 3rd station very soon.

Do you have a resume in for open continuous jobs, series 0081? This will cover all locations you want to work for.

    Hope this helps.

And yes, I am talking about civilian-wise jobs. I'm DQ'd from military service, medically-wise.

I just spoke to a new hire at Pendleton yesterday-sounds like they just hired a bunch and still have a few open.

    Default submit resume

If you are looking for a job with the federal government, such as civil service, you must post a resume on usajobs.gov. That is where they pull potential applicants from. And make sure you follow all the directions in the job announcement. You will be looking for job series 0081. And remember to list ALL of your certifications, knowledge about the job, skills and abilities. It's a computer that screens resumes, not a human being. Read the announcement very carefully when you are compiling your resume. Don't be afraid to add everything! The computer looks for key words, in determining whether you are qualified or not. Use some of the same words in your resume as in the announcement. Good luck! I am with Cherry Point, and used to work there as a fire inspector, now I am a safety inspector.

Thumbs up Federal Fire and Camp Pendleton Fire on the web

Pendleton has allot of firefighter openings. We are ONLY looking for good attitude, hard working people. If youíre not this, we donít want You (I hope I didnít offend anyone). CPFD is adapting to the outside with training and operations and getting away with the typical mentality that federal firefighters have had over the years. Those days are long gone here at CPFD!!!!

    Good Luck!!
