I just got an e-mail on this, and I still can't believe it. I hadn't seen Jerry in quite some time, and I didn't realize he was sick (cancer). He was a solid man and a backbone of Paramus Rescue and the Bergen County EMS Trainng Center.

Jerry, you will be missed. Rest in Peace, brother.

SCHWARTZ William "Jerry" Jr., 61, of Paramus, died Thursday, July 24, 2008 at home.He was Director, Bergen County EMS Training Center in Paramus. He was a 45-year member and ex-Chief of the Paramus Volunteer Rescue Squad. Mr. Schwartz attended Jacksonville Chapel in Lincoln Park.Beloved husband of Deborah (nee Clark). Devoted father of Traci Meredith and her husband Michael of Haskell, Collette Bartels and her husband Kevin of Oak Ridge and Ryan Schwartz of Paramus. Adored grandfather of Madison, Aidan and Emmagrace. Loving son of Irene Schwartz of Paramus and the late William "Jerry" Schwartz, Sr. Dear brother of Sandi Goldzweig of Paramus. Also survived by two nephews, Craig and Christian, two nieces, Corinne and Alexis, and loving in-laws, Paul, Arlene, and Paul Jr.Funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Monday at Jacksonville Chapel, 264 Jacksonville Road, Lincoln Park.
