I just got the results from the test. My score was not high enough to move on in the trainee program. Good luck to all of you.

chawk12, I tested for the trainee program. I'm in Beaverton. I assume the ranked list is still planning on going out on the 27th as 3rdFloor advised.

I just ran out to the mail box to see if I got it. But sadly no letter. I just hope I get it before next Friday. I'm heading out of town that day. I thought the website said they were not being mailed till the 27th?

I'm in West Linn which is a suburb of Portland. I wish they would have told me how I did on the test and in what percentile I finished. All I know is that however I did, it wasn't good enough.

Congrats GaiusPaul! I got the same news. So now it's the PAT and a Chief's selection interview.
Sorry to hear your results Whatbrown. Stick with it!
By the way, I'm in Portland.Last edited by Fatkid4; 08-22-2008 at 07:33 PM.

To those that have received letters:
Is it just the trainees, or the recruits as well?
This is confirming there is no first round oral interviews?
What are the dates you are seeing for the CPAT?
I'm sure I have bit more painful waiting to do way down here in phoenix...

It seems the letters received are all trainees. I am on the recruit list and got nothing in the mail today. I am patiently waiting for the 27th to get here

No dates for CPAT other than Sept/Oct for practice CPAT.
I applied for trainee program.
Regarding first round oral interviews, the letter says after the CPAT is a Chief's selection Interview. I don't know if that will be the same for recruits.
Hang in there. They're coming.Last edited by Fatkid4; 08-22-2008 at 08:44 PM.

Well I got mine today!!! So far so good. I'm moving on to the PAT. From what I can tell the PAT wont be till late September or October. But I would not bet my life on that information. Good luck to every one else.
By the way I live up in Seattle and I believe I am a trainee if I remember correctly.

Here's some good news of you that are testing. A lot of retirements are a possability in January. They have changed how our pension is calculated and a couple other things and it is beneficial to anyone who was thinking of retiring in the next year and a half to go in Jan. I don't remember the entire reasoning behind it but that is the ultra condensed version. Not that it will increase the amount we can hire at a time but it may create spots earlier.

Tac
The number per class really can't be increased much more than what it has been, about 12-16 due to staffing, equipment and grounds space. Like the mysterious Nozzleman said (no reply to my emails dude) more slots later on from this list if the retiremens happen like we think.

Ogomez, I didn't get any emails. Send me a PM.
Like Ogomez said, class size really won't change. 12 works about the best, 16 is possible but that is the max. We have done bigger and as intensive as our training is it just creates problems.

I have a question which I'm not sure that has been asked or not. But does anyone know what the cut off for the PAT was? Did they take anyone who passed or just a set amount of people?

PAT is pass fail, if you pass it you move on to the next step.

A quick update from the Recruiter: Trainee letters did go out early, and Recruit letters are still on track to go out tomorrow.
(If you live outside of the metro area and are holding your breath waiting for mail, remember that Monday is a holiday!)

You can read all about the PAT on the website, here is a PDF I got from there. As nozzleman said...it is pass fail. You have 8.02 minutes to finish the 9 exercises. If you do it in 8.01 it makes no difference, you will move on the same as the guy who did it in 4.03
