That was one of the most amazing things I have ever seen in sports. I hae heard about the US te4am's conditioning, strnegth, and other things. That victory came about as a result of heart. Nothing more, nothing less.
So far, I think the coverage has been pretty good. What I like is that when I don't want to see the usual mainstream stuff, I can switch to another cable channel and see good coverage of some obscure stuff-kind of like the way they covered Curling during the Winter Olympics.PROUD, HONORED AND HUMBLED RECIPIENT OF THE PURPLE HYDRANT AWARD - 10/2007.

There is nothing wrong with the Olympics. I'm not glued to the coverage, and I have no idea when certain events are. When is the women's volleyball? For some reason, that has a high value of entertainment for me. The story behind some of the athletes making their respective teams are what makes their victories more interesting. Like most people, I guess I'm waiting for the highlight videos, and not really interested in the day to day competitions. Still, sometimes I find myself flipping through channels, and stopping for a few of the competitions.

I believe they are the most impressive athletes competing.Politics is like driving. To go forward select "D", to go backward select "R."

C'mon Harve,
The results of the Olympics have no effect on my life, but I must admit I almost fell out of my chair when Lezak came from so far behind with only a half pool length to go to beat the previous world record holder. Beating the French after all the trash talking made it a great day to be an American!!

French 4X100 relay team- " The Americans?? We're going to smash them. That's what we came here for..."
Anybody that watched that race and didn't get excited and full of pride shouldn't watch the OLY games. That race had it all. Cocky Frenchmen, USA as underdogs, great come behind finish and a new wolrd record. The looks on the face of the french was great. They were supposed to win, they talked so much trash and THEY ended up getting smashed by "The Americans" !! Good stuff.

Well.............
As usual, Discussion has been stimulated. No, I didn't get up on the wrong side of the bed, if I did her husband would have noticed. Truth is, I'm just not into "People" Sports, I'm more of a High Horsepower, Screaming Machinery type of person.
George? I have no idea why there isn't a NASCAR Track at the end of your driveway, everything else gets dumped in New Jersey.

We do have a NASCAR Track here in Maryland though, it's called the Capitol Beltway..........
Diane? Rebuttal?......

Women's Beach V-ball is Olympic Poorn.
I enjoy it in small doses. The end of day recap is pretty good, and sometimes I get sucked into the obscure stuff too. Trap shooting has put just enough redneck into the olympics, and a 57 year old women is a favorite. It gives us all hope...
