Dispatcher/Call taker employment

Hi all. I am a fire dispatcher in Australia where we dispatch brigades for the entire state of Victoria, in Australia (pop approx 5 million people). MY wife and I are interested in coming to the US to live and I would like to find work in the same field. Can anyone help with info on if departments are known to sponsor international applicants at all or if there are any Aussie people here who have done it can you tell me what you did?

I havnt heard many Aussie blokes on the air but in Southwestern PA we used to have a Police Chief from New Zealand. I dont think you will have much trouble finding work. Most call centers are starving for experienced people. Good Luck.

yes from what i know dispatchers are in a high demand. i'd love to be a dispatcher. i think it would be a really cool job.
