    Default Airpacks

I can't seem to get the search working...

A while back an Arkansas department down below
Fort Smith was talking about having no usable airpacks.

If they are still around, or if anyone remembers and can
send me the right direction, I have some for them.

volfireman034 reported some SCBA issues a year or so ago, but it looks like thankfully he got some help with a 2007 AFG. Is that who you were thinking of?

That was it, and seems they are now golden.

No worries, plenty of other departments down here needing them, they just
    really seemed in need. Thanks!

    Question surplus AV2000 masks

We are looking for (8) of the Kevlar head harness for Scott AV2000 masks. We got brand new masks from surplus NY state stuff but they have rubber Hazmat head harness. Masks can be scratched, broken, etc. We have 500' of good used 4" LDH if someone wanted to pay shipping or pickup.

I'd suggest just buying AV3000 facepieces. The head nets are bit on the overpriced side. THe AV300 are a HUGE night/day improvement over the AV2000 and compatible with any Scott pack. If you want to save some $ there was a lot of new AV3000 listed on Ebay yesterday.

Just to elaborate a bit, anytime you take those nuts off of the facepiece (the ones with two holes that hold the head harness on), you have to replace them with new ones. They're not cheap, either.

AV2000 thats is, you are correct. And a bit of a PITA.

You can also inexpensively get eyeglass frames for the AV3000. Your FF that need such (as I do) can.

Your FF that wear eyeglasses to see clearly have the same safety equipment for their mask? I'd rather have a hood or gloves with holes than be near blind when on air due to lack of specs.

    Wink Great feedback

I was more less hoping some of the thousands of new airpacks that went into service from AFG funds may have left some lucky dept with surplus, old scratched or broken masks that they would be willing to pass on to someone else. I agree it's not worth $1,200 (~$150 a mask) to buy new kevlar, but for $100 or so it's worth it for us to have 8 new masks. Been watching Ebay for a year, just no one selling masks cheap. They always run $100-$200. Still hoping to find a pile of broken, scratched masks at some fire station to get used kevlar.

Do you ever check the GovDeals website? There's a lot of 8 Scott masks that I happened to find. I didn't search any further, though.

Fighting41 send me an e-mail at jacksoncofire@yahoo.com about that 4" you have for sale. We may be interested in the hose, but send me an e-mail and we can talk more.
