Common problems?

I'm currently finishing a 4 year degree in finance before going back to school for firefighter/paramedic certs. One of my classes involves creating a business plan so I figured I could try for something in the firefighter/paramedic field. Are there any situations where a tool or service has not been created that would be a major help on the job or possibly a tool you would like modified for times when out on a call? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
