    Default Minimum Age for Belvidere/Rockford

    Sorry if this seems like an ignorant question but does anyone know if their is a minimum age requirement to become a fire fighter in Belvidere or Rockford ?

    Yea Skitch. 21 is the Min for both. You can probably test before that but can not take the position if it gets offered till you are 21. Do you live around them citys. there are plenty of POC depts to get you going while you test.

    I know of a department that would take you, unless you've got felonies, or something horrible like cooking and eating children on your record...

    But you can't make a living off our "pay," though I think we have some guys that try.

    I'm in the western Burbs...you know of any POC's in the area? I think Glenside F.P.D. is?

    Yea I do think cooking and or eating kids would keep you out. It is not on the list of bad things you can do but I would bet it is frowned upon.

    I guess as mentioned in this thread it is 21 years. But I am sure at some age like 16-18 or whatever you can be a Jr. Member and assist on calls or a Probationary member. Either or.

    No junior members in Rockford. Minimum testing age is 19, but you can't take the job until your 21. Max testing age is 35.
