What is the top five things you wish you would have brought?

What were the top five things that you brought that you wish you hadn't drag over there?

(I know, I know pack light - I got that part - just trying to think ahead for things to have shipped over to me too!)

    Thanks brothers!

You can have just about anything you want over here, since we do have mail that is extremely easy to recieve things. It's getting them back home thats the problem. My contract is just about over here very soon but as far as things I wish I had brought with me I would just say laptop. It is a lifesaver. I do all my paperwork on my own computer and talk to friends and family back home. Sunglasses is actually number one, If you dont have a pair you will have a pair soon. Once you get here you will see things you can order or have sent over. Guitars, Projector, Surround Sound, Rock Band, I've seen some soldiers with a drum set. Bare minimum for trip here and once you get here call home and have all the goodies sent over. Hauling all of these bags through 4-5 airports sucks. So just mail what is not necessary .

From time on deployment with the military:

Laptop (god send and porn imager... what guy can live without it?)

Surround sound system... Music soothes the savage beast...

Small things to trade for necessities... E-bay is a great place to pick up stuff to trade for things you may need in country (Aussies love doing this for stuff they need on deployment)

Something that keeps dust and sand outa my face and eyes...

A really good hat... Too many times left home without a good sandy colored baseball cap that is great for keeping the sun off my bald head after shaving all my hair off for ease of hygene. Too many times in the Army have I gone without a shower... I just work around it and birdbath when I get the chance.

Other good things are hand sanatizer, baby wipes (great for a really quick shower), non perfumed deoderant, cheapy sunglasses that you aren't gonna mind if you break, or expensive ones that just dont break, blister packs, singgoes (stuff here that makes mosquito bites or others not itch any more), jack rations (any food you really enjoy but know you cant get a hold of there), fly screen, really good travel pillow that rolls up into nothing, anything that makes life more comfortable for you but just remember that you still have to lug it all home as well.

    Best of luck mate!
