    Exclamation Nfpa 1901

specing a rescue/pumper, going to bid in 6 months. looking at lots ideas. How do I get all the new changes for NFPA 1901? We subscribe to NFPA and they send us a CD every once in a while. Also we want to put a over kill of scene lights w/tower. Anyone have much opinion of the new Whelen LED brow light?

That's unusual. Beat the Dec31 order deadline and you can save $8-10k. And can order a Freightliner or Cummins it that is what you are looking for.

Most of the 1901-2009 changes are already available (at least on commerical chassis). For the next 3months you can pick/chose what you want/how you want to spend your $. For example do you really want to spend $3000 on red/lime chevron stripes on the rear of your truck? Or maybe spend it on tools to go in the compartments.

Why not skip all the rear warning lights too and save even more money, maybe skip the traffic safety vests also . You wouldn't want to make your rig and the crew more visible would you, that would make way too much sense.

LED's are the wave of the future. They don't match Halogens and other technologies yet, but their efficiency if way better, and bulb life is awesome. Way lower ownership cost in the long run.

The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened. --Norman Mattoon Thomas, 6 time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America
