    Default Fire Investigator Training

I am looking for any information on training for Fire Investigation. I hold numerous building and fire inspection certifications through ICC, and I am an NFPA certified Fire Inspector. Currently in NY wher I live I can not enroll in the state fire investigator classes because I am not in a department or do not have a job where my responsibility is primarily fire investigations.

How do private cause and origin investigators that work for insurance companies get there training?

    Any help is appreciated.

I would estimate that over 90% of all private sector fire investigators got their training by working as a public sector fire investigator. Private sector companies do not have time or money to train people to do the job.

Check out www.firearson.com or www.cfitrainer.net to find further info.

    Default Fire Investigator Training

IAAI websites firearson.com and CFITrainer.net are excellent place to start. IAAI has a list of publication to study to take their CFI Test. You can use the CFITrainer website without being a member of IAAI. Joining IAAI is a big advance because it ties you into a large network for training and contacts.
IAAI is the premier investigation organization in the world...
