Default Being Woken up by an alarm

Been along time since I have searched this forum, but I figure if anyone would be able to help me out it would be the people here.

Has anyone every heard of or read a report talking about the effects on the body caused by being woken from a deep sleep by a loud alarm? (Ie Pager, base alarm etc.)

I am looking it see if there are any adverse effects on the physical or mental health of the person.

Check with Portland Maine FD. There was a lot of tak a few years ago that they had conducted a study or found one to use that showed an increase in heart stress from the loud sudden bells or klaxon type alerting. IIRC They used this study to force the City to install ramping up alerts and lights in their stations.
