Default Pay Chart & General Pay Questions

I know I have inquired about this subject before. I also know I need to have a PhD in math to figure this out, but here goes...

On the Pay Chart can someone explain the differences between GS Base Pay, FF Base Pay, and Annual Pay?

For example a GS-4 Step 10 has the following pay information:
    GS Base Pay 37591.00
    FF Base Pay 51068.16
    Annual Pay 57806.32
    FF Pay 1445.84
    FF Rate 13.64
    OT Pay 777.48
    OT Rate 20.46

If I use vacation time, what rate am I paid? Is OT included in the time off? For example If I take a vacation/sick day, do I get the same pay on my check as if I worked that day?

If you take A/l or sick leave. your paid at your hourly rate.(13.64) you don't get paid OT if your out sick. Non in tour OT is for when you work an extra shift of OT (20.46)

looks like your Annual Pay 57806.32 is what you would make , unless you work some OT which could bump it up a few grand.

GS Base Pay 37591.00 .thats your base, then they add in your locality adj./ in tour OT to bump it up to 57806.32

in tour OT isn't the same as working a shift of OT.. in tour is figured in every two weeks. You work 106 hrs reg and 38 hrs in tour OT every 2 weeks to total 144 hrs every 2 weeks of pay.

    Thanks for the great response...

How does a "vacation" work? Obviously it would be 24hrs instead of the 8hrs I currently take.

You should get 6 days of vacation at 24 hours each. Since your already in the system, you might get more. Most Firefighters take leave 24 hours at a time, but some like to take 4, 6, 8, 12 or whatever time off.

A lot of fire departments will only allow 24's as it makes things easier.
