Friends,

I'm looking for some advice from anyone who's gone through something like this or for some direction or advice.

I'm a firefighter/EMT in northern Alabama. Recently our department released a new uniform policy that took away our ability to leave our uniforms at work and arrive early to change. My complaint is that I don't want to wear home potentially contaminated uniforms and possibly make my family sick. For me not being able to leave our boots at work is especially worrisome. There is not a good way to completely decontaminate our shoes at the end of every shift. To me it would make much more sense just to be allowed to leave our boots and uniforms there.

OSHA? NFPA?

Any help would be appreciated.
