Great Vid and Question
hey thx for the great video really enjoyed watching it.
so is this academy only for the LA Explores or can any other explore post join in? Is there a age limit and is it a full FF1 academy or just an regular Explore academy? Do you get any kinda certificate out of the academy? if there is a web site i can check out that would be great.
Thanks,
Takahiro A.K.A TANK

The CT Fire Academy runs a similar week-long program in the summer. Everyone that goes can't say enough good things about it. You live there for the week and the instructors put them through the ringers. (They don't do the repelling off roofs or zip lines though). On the last day, they have a graduation ceremony and put on a big demonstration for everyone attending it. We sent two this year and they loved every minute of it. When they were telling us about everything they did, I was kinda jealous. I want to go, but I think I'm too old. The CT Fire Academy as at Bradley airport so they even got to play with the ARFF trucks.
Even the burger-flippers at McDonald's probably have some McWackers.

That video is out of Orange County, not LA. I do not remember the entrance reqs. for the academy or who can/cant attend. I dont know the age limit and do not think you get your CA FF1. Looks like the agencies represented were OCFA, Orange City and Huntington Beach Search and Rescue.
Grads. do get a cert. of completion. As for the OCFA website- Look here.
The statewide EXP academy is here.

Hey guys!
Sadly I dont have a video of my old La County Explorer Academy(because it would put the OCFA Explorer video to shame ;]), but I do have one of my college basic fire academy that I think you guys will enjoy. There is tons of funny scenes also =]
