DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs the following tasks and inspections: -Responds to aircraft emergencies, facility equipment failure, airfield building/structure emergencies and related emergency situations. -Performs as fire brigade member for airfield fire fighting/crash rescue and related fire prevention services. Participates in continued training relative to fire fighting, fire prevention, inspection, equipment operation First Aid CPR/AED and crash procedures and practices. -Performs inspections, surveys and program evaluations of areas and operations to identify mishap potentials and assess safety equipment and procedures. -Performs periodic and special inspections of facilities, flightlines, maintenance and industrial areas, recommends corrective actions and conducts follow-up inspections. -Provide support to the Facilities, Maintenance, or Safety. -Other duties as assigned.
High school graduate or equivalent with six months to one year of experience within airfield operations, facilities, or maintenance. Able to lift heavy items up to 50 pounds. Able to operate heavy equipment. Valid California driver's license. Must be willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift, weekends and overtime. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS: Four years of work that includes safety training. Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
