Anyone have info on FG$ 2007/08 for PASS? Only unit that meets the new NFPA std is the Grace SuperPASS III. Price went from around $275 up to $495. FG was allowing around $300ea.

What if FG doing on this? For SCBA they upped the max to $5000. Doing the same for PASS (increasing the grant)? or requiring FD to come up with the extra or just buy as many PASS as possible, at $495ea, with the total $ provided in the grant?

neiowa , there have not been enough awards yet for me to be able to give you a definitive answer to that however; it is usually acceptable that if prices are up on SCBA or any other equipment from one year to the next that they do allow a percentage increase in allowable amount. We saw this in turnout gear last year and in SCBAs, so I think you would be safe in assuming that at least some increase will be allowed. How much, is anyone's guess right now.

Since pricing wasn't available at app time $300 is the magic number so far. Had a few get awarded that only asked for that much, couple of others got reduced. If the local dough isn't there then FD can try the appeal route but don't see that ship sailing. AFG allows everything but in-kind matching so if need be folks can hit up Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, and anyone else in the area that has a foundation.

Actually new higher prices were announced as far back as Oct07. Have a local FD trying to spend their FG07$ (from Dec) and they are not sure what to do.

FG allowed additional $ to cover the NFPA changes for SCBA. Why not for PASS (also driven by same NFPA update)?

Can try an amendment like we had to do with the SCBA, send 3 prices and see what happens.
