Chief Thomas Carr new Charleston Fire Chief
Chief Thomas Carr of the Montgomery County MD Fire Department has been named Chief of Department for the Charleston Fire Department. He replaces former Charleston Fire Chief Rusty Thomas who retired in the wake of the tragic Sofa Super Store Fire that left 9 Charleston FF's dead.
Carr was chosen from a short list of seven qualified candidates that were widdled down from 141 applicants. Carr was the chief of the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service in Maryland. He also has 30 years of experience including four as chief.
