I heard back from Mendocino a little while ago, my interview is on the 2nd I believe. If your waiting on an interview from them, don't give up hope, it could still be in the mail.

has anybody recieved anything from San Bernardino, Riverside, or San Diego units yet? it sounds like the letters are making their rounds and i have yet to recieve anything.

does anyone know if calfire will honor qualifications / certs. earned through the u.s. forest service?

I just received my letter from the SLO unit two days ago and I have yet to receive anything from units South of there. In the past I had not seen letters until the middle of April and this year the letters came early, is anyone else experiencing this?

I recieved my letter for San Diego about 2 weeks ago. I called the hotline and the message said they anticipate zero opening for the 2010 fire season. They said canidates should consider twice before making the drive.

I have not heard from San Bernardino or Riverside.

Hi everyone,

I came into work this morning and saw a message for interview with Cal Fire. It is from a 909 aera code, so I assume its with Riverside. The message does not state what job its for, but I assume its either for seasonal or the ff2 tau. I just thought it was odd they called my station to set it up instead of sending out a letter. Did anyone else recieve a phone call?

Mine is the 25th as well. I know I am on panel 2. Are the interviews at the BDU Headquarters?

The captain that took the message wrote it down. I got the date, time and panel. No mention of what job it was for, unit or what to bring to the interview. I actually thought it was Riverside cuz of the 909 area code give.

I just recieved my letter from MMU saying that I am a "Hiring Category 2" and I'm wondering what my chances of being hired from this category are and if they do when do they hire?

well im done with all my interviews ( RRU,BDU, MVU) and now its the waitin game!! I got cat 1 in the three of them so im reallly hopin for a job! Any one hear anything or know what to expect from these three units? Thanks fellas!

Attempting a Thread revival here.

I applied to CALFIRE last season (all the northern units) and got one letter back saying i was not ranked high enough to be considered. I read the previous cert requirements listed (and some of them i must need), but I feel like I should have gotten some interviews... ANY HELP is appreciated.

Season working for municipal dept in Tahoe on handcrew.

I don't have FFT-1, 67 or FRO. <----"THE" problem(s)?
Should I be looking at Forest Service more than CALFire???
