    Exclamation Hmmmm...........

I've tried a number of different lures, but the best I've done was 21. RHVFD1214, are you out there? I might need to borrow a Triton.....

Harve, somehow I knew either you or 1214 would bring up the Triton.

    Yeah, it's the Triton!

I've been fishing this past week. We had a divisional tournament for the Team Trails organization. My partner and myself finished 24th out of 78 boats in the competition. We also qualified to fish the Championship on Lake Ferguson in Greenville, MS. This is an oxbow off of the Mississippi River. Whooohoo! I haven't fished the big muddy, so it will be an adventure. If anyone has information such as a map, we sure could use it. Otherwise, I guess I'll be downloading some free stuff from Yahoo or Google.

The fishing was tough this weekend. Friday was a gut check for me, as I couldn't land a keeper. My partner had 4 keepers, and unfortunately, one died leaving us with a puny 3.97 lbs for the first day.(.5 lb dead fish penalty) Persistance paid off, however, and after deciding that our primary area (that I found in prefishing Wednesday,) would be the place to start Saturday, our plan was set. When we arrived Saturday morning, we were greeted with the sight of bass busting shad at the mouth of the slough. With no pressure from other boats, we proceded to land 10.33 lbs of bass in the first two hours, anchored by two fish over 4 lbs. Our final day tally would be only 14.30, but it was enough to make up ground over several other boats to finish in 24th. When we put aside the what-ifs about the fish we lost Friday, we still were very excited with Saturday's turn around. It was a good day.

A note about Team Trails, it is a growing organization. BassCat is a major sponsor, and will be awarding a new BassCat to the Championship winners, as well as giving a new boat away to one of the contestants from a drawing of all participants. If you like the idea of competitive team fishing for bass, then check out the web site for more details. www.teamtrails.com

Well, I made 21 EVENTUALLY. Took a while to work out that "close the surface" acutally means bright green, not CLOSE to the boat! LOL
