We have a HM prop about to go on line. It will use quite a bit of air. I don't want to cycle our frontline 4.5 cylinders, instead would like to get some 2.5s and dedicate them to the prop. Anybody have a source for used (cheap) cylinders?
Thanks, Bill.

Haz-Mat prop. Lot's of piping and valves and such. The system can be pressurized with water, air or both. Should be pretty cool.

Why would you want to mix cylinders? Just get a 4.5, that way you wont have to worry about the guy blowing his face off when he tries to refill that 2.2 with 4.5 pressure.

if you don't know the difference, you shouldn't be filling cylinders.

he does at our house.
I'll say it again - if he doesn't know the difference, he shouldn't be filling.

We are going another direction with the air supply. A small portable compressor will give us what we need and eliminate the need for regulators and switching cylinders. As for the local SCBA guys that's me. It's all 4.5 around here.
We did have a guy try to fill a low pressure that the PD has at the jail. When the burst disc blew, they all scattered. I wasn't on that day, we put a stop to filling other agencies cylinders, unless me or the other tech do it.

Yeah - blowing a disc is a real attention-getter. I'm glad you found a workable solution for your problem. Sorry I hijacked your thread.
