    Default Officer Beth Leizear

September 28, our Company was called to the scene of a single vehicle MVA versus a tree. Once on the scene, i realized it was my Wife, Patrol Officer Beth Leizear. She was responding to a 911 call for disruptive teens in a nearby store parking lot when she lost control of her Cruiser on a wet road. The vehicles impact was on the drivers side door. It was a prolonged extracation due to the severity of the collision, and the impact site relative to her position inside the vehicle. She was unconscience and unresponsive to any stimuli. She spent 3 days in the ICU, until I had to make the decision to let her go. Cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
I want to thank all the Members of Enigine Company 29 (Orange County VA), not once did they leave mine or my Daughters' side from the scene to Beths passing, and the other surrounding Fire Companies, for their unwavering support of myself and our 2 Daughters. In addition I would like to thank the local Law Enforcement community on their contributions to honoring Beth for her selfless service to her community. A special thanks to Chancellor Company 5 for providing an honor guard at the funeral services. When we say that we belong to a Brotherhood, this kind of tragedy truly puts it into perspective just how much love and devotion we have for one another.
