    Default Peer Review DJs

When might AFG start releasing the DJs? Or has anybody received one yet?

    Thanks Paul

To date no PDJ's have been sent out. Last year the first round came out just before round 17 with 2680 awards made to that point. To date 1272 awards have been made. If the AFG maintains a high number of awards could be as early as round 14, but my guess between rounds 18-20.

    Onebugle,

Thank you. Your statistical knowledge on the AFG program is vast.

I believe the computer round of dear john's has gone out as we recieved one for our vehicle application. We got that back on Sept. 5. I know of another station that received one for there operations grant same time. By reading all the other threads I don't think any of the peer review dj's have come out yet.

No Peer Review denials out yet; supposed to be any day now for the first round of those.

Checked at 3 for any 1199A's did not see any emails posted for AFG applications. I guess I'll have to check again.

Found nothing in the grant email box for DJ's, unless they just have not been posted there yet.

Just checked again to have a look after 1700 Eastern, nothing on my end yet, which I find somewhat surprising.

I would be willing to bet that the AFG peer review DJ's are not far behind this. I bet Xmas is going to be disappointing to some.

Thinking of DJ's and grants and such, what ever happened to FP&S?

Just got the DJ for SAFER.....We applied for 2 Firefighters in order to get to a 3-man shift everyday, I guess we just aren't needy enough...NOT....SAFER confuses the hell out of me, 3 years in a row....

steelman not sure where at in IL you are but you should try to get a hold of k3twpfire since he is the king of SAFER and is from here in IL as well.

Angry Peer Review DJ after 1199A opened?

Kurt or Brian or anyone - Please advise - I just got a SAFER Peer Review Dear John for a FD that the Feds had already opened the 1199A link to the grant. Has anyone ever had this happen before? I know you always say don't pop the cork until the actual AWARD but I sure had the bottle ready.

Received an email this morning that several denials went out to 1199A holders and they were sent in error so no worries. You should receive an email correcting the denial.

Emails have gone out to the Profile's email address correcting the denials sent yesterday for those that have 1199As showing. Possibly a couple of others also, they haven't released all of the 1199As so hang tight.

steel, not sure what's going on with your app but something does stick out just from what's here: 100% with 4 on the initial attack is the NFPA requirement and since DHS adopted that as law it must be met with your proposal. Along with the other 2 metrics governing 1710/20 on full alarm staffing that is, with most using callbacks or mutual aid to handle those arguments. If you don't hit each metric head on you're losing points big time compared to anyone that is meeting them, and with denials being relative it's not what your score is it's where you are in line. I have 6 that were turned down for hiring last year that are awarded/pending so it still can be one of those things that takes many cycles to pull you guys up to the top of the list by everyone else getting funded and out of the way. Also if the checkbook holders won't come out for another FF per shift to hit 4 and that's what is needed, gives the implication to reviewers that maybe the project doesn't have the local support needed even if it were recommended for award.

Not saying any of that is in your case, since I don't have the whole picture. Just throwing ideas to get the discussion going for everyone's benefit.
