Spoke with a Buddy of mine today, a Chaufer in Chesapeake VA.... they're Kool Aid toys have been in the shop for months....2 tillers about a year old....
Can't get them working right, once they "fix" one thing another pops up.... Sounds alot like the 2 accross town from me, One tower complete with front porch overhang and a Quantum wich qualifies in the looks department as the "Bubba" (from forest gump) of fire apparatus.

I can't get past the smell of Kool Aid, let alone the taste...blaht

Kind of a tongue-in-cheek joke to Tony, but since Metz is a division of Rosenbauer now, you can see the latest Metz units delivered on their site.

Or, the one in question here:
    http://www.rosenbaueramerica.com/del...detail/?id=283

I believe the first truly NFPA compliant single axle Metz built. 300 gallons of water, enough hose and ladders to meet the minimum requirement for a quint. Yeah, I know I said minimum, but this met a niche need for the purchaser, so I'm not here to argue the validity of the Metz concept. Besides, I no longer sell for that dealer anymore, so it really isn't my battle anymore.

Buff if you put some corn starch on your Pierce's you won't get gaulded.

I have a couple bids coming up and have heard that a certain Appleton Co is not supplying bonds also, so I will let you know.

Woodbridge NJ is going to have the first ALF Aerialscope Refurb/Rechassis

Out of all seriousness, I know of a Southern/Central NJ company that has gone to LTI directly for a pumper to be built on a Gladiator chassis. LTI is supposedly considering the offer and has not answered yay or nay as of yet.

The old McKinley Fire Co. Aerialscope may look pretty good on a Eagle cab, if you could get LTI to do Scope remounts ?

That would be cool. I would actually like to see KME do one on the Predator SS LA County cab/chassis.

While we're talking BS here... Ogunquit Maine... how did they get a 100' E-One rearmount on a single axle chassis?

You will def see me in Keasby to check out the BURLINGTON Aerialscope soon! (Can I drive?!?!?)

    CooterRob,

1500 gallons? Seems like a lot for a single axle pumper.

What all do you guys carry on it? Is it strictly a pumper or do you have rescue company tools on her?

It will have a mixture of both... it has a 31,500 rear axle and a 21,500 front axle. weighs in the 40K's.

I don't think that KME builds a chassis with " triple frame rails " to handle the flex from the scope being lifted off the ground when in operation, without a torque box !!Kme fire apparatus would do a good business remounting AerialScopes from the Pa, area .We have drills on the ( first thursday ) of every month at 6:30 pm, at 420 Smith Street Keasbey,Woodbridge Twp Fire District #4 stop by to look at the truck, it is not registered or insured to be driven on the road !

Might be worth the price of a phone call, too. KME did a couple of 85' Snorkels for Phila. that get beat up every day of the week. They may be getting ready to do another one. I don't know what the frame requirements for Snorkels are, but I'd guess they're pretty substantial. I don't know of a reason why they couldn't do triple rails, but that's their call.

I also don't know if I'd want to have the first 'Scope that KME did, although if they put their minds to it, and if you stand over them with a baseball bat, they can turn out some decent work. But Seagrave and Pierce have done enough of them to have it pretty well figured out.
