Hey guys I have always wanted to be a firefighter but went to college for something else. I thought I would end up changing my mind but nope I want to do this now. After reading a lot of post and talking with HR in Fort Worth I am still left with a lot of questions.

If you are in Dallas Fort Worth I would really appreciate any advice but if you are not I would love the input.

I am physically fit with a 4 year degree from a good university. I use to have a CPR certification but it has expired. What else should I do to give me an edge. Also how competitive is it in Dallas Fort Worth? Just any over all suggestions for a guy wanting to start a great career. When you go threw interviews are you then sent to a fire academy or just training?
