    Default USAR training

Any suggestions for a good training institution offering USAR style collapse shoring, breaching/breaking and con-space training? We are in the process of rounding out our tech rescue program and want to make sure we are up to date regarding technique and equipment.

I suggest contacting LA Co FD in CA. Sometimes they allow others to attend their training programs.

    Default Upcoming TRT classes

We are offering the whole series of technical rescue classes beginning in February 2009. We will be holding the classes one week each month through July. Each course is stand alone and covers one of the technical rescue disciplines.

The Green Valley Fire District is a cooperative learning center with TEEX. We utilize the Texas A&M curriculum and upon successful completion of the class you will receive a Proboard certification for the majority of the classes. I can forward our course catalog to you if you send me your email address.

I took the Stuctrual Collapse Technican from VA TF 2 in Va Beach in Oct 07. Costs about $1300 IIRC. Great class. They offer it once a year usually in Oct around the same week as posted below.

The teex stuff is great. High speed instructors from all over the country, first class facilities, and good equipment to train with.

No matter what anyone says, going to the "shot bar" in college station is a bad idea.

Snook for steaks is a great idea.

If you want to be taught by the best go to collapse rescue systems. They will come to you, I know that they have done work in Canada. The web site is as follows www.collapserescuesystems.com

I can second nickdano1950's comments on Collapse Rescue Systems.

I took several one day collapse & trench rescue seminars and a two day trench rescue operations class from them in Blandford, Nova Scotia several years ago. I also took the two day collapse rescue H.O.T. program at FDIC which was staffed primarily with instructors from Collapse Rescue Systems.

Their instructors are excellent with years of real life hands-on experiance. Several of the guys were recently retired from FDNY's Rescue 3 which up until 9-11 was the only collapse rescue unit in the FDNY. A couple of others were from California & another was from Canada.

Thanks for the feedback. We are considering the option of having a compnay come in and are looking a bit closer at Collapse Rescue Systems. Any other company suggestions?

You will be very happy with collapse rescue systems, if you choose them. They have done and been involved in many real life collapses and they use that knowledge in their teaching program.
