Our year ended and started with fire. We were a 3rd alarm response to a fire in the keys at the Cheeca lodge. Apparently a famous place

    I'll play...

0314 - Commercial alarm at local high school. Alarm panel sent us to the gymnasium. Opened the door and it was literally 130+ degrees in there. Boiler had turned on and had been jacking heat in there for quite awhile.

What was your 1st run of 2009?

Don't know, it hasn't happened for me yet. I don't go back on duty until Saturday. As for what the dept's first call was, I have no clue.

I was forced to endure an entire day of football, beer drinking, and frivolous behavior never having the bells go off once.

Oh wait....I'm retired. Could be there were no bells since I was home.

Overall 10 runs for me on 1-1-09, 6 refusals or cancels, 1 with the engine, 3 transports, only used the cot once.
