All,
It is with heavy hearts that the Military Ocean Terminal Sunny Point Fire Department, located near Southport, NC, announces the passing of our brother Charles “CJ” Johnson Jr. Brother Johnson was a firefighters’ firefighter and shared a profound love of the job. He retired from the Sunny Point Fire Department in June of 2007 after 21 years of service. Prior to relocating to NC, he was a member of the Easton Fire Department in Easton, MD. He was also a member of the US Army, serving in Vietnam, and later in the Maryland National Guard.
Brother Johnson’s service in Southport, NC will be Sunday, 4 January 2009 at 1400 hours, at the Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral home 1411 North Howe St. Southport, NC 28461. He will be transported by his brother firefighters to Maryland on Monday, 5 January 2009.
Brother Johnson will have a viewing on Tuesday, 6 January 2009 from 1800-2000 hours. The funeral service will be on Wednesday, 7 January 2009 beginning at 1100 hours. Both the viewing and service will be held at Fellows-Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral home 200 South Harrison St. Easton, MD 21601.
It was Brother Johnson’s wish to have as many uniformed personnel and as much apparatus present as possible. If your department can attend, our department would be grateful. The MD arrangements are being handled by the Easton Fire Department. If you need any more information, please contact them or send me a private message.
