I've always wondered if the fuel tanks on cars would violently explode if involved in fire. We see it over and over on movies but i've never witnessed anything like it in real life. I've always been under the impression that gasoline in liquid form doesnt burn fast enough to produce such an explosion but i would hate to be wrong. Could the tank explode in a condition similar to a BLEVE? Thanks in advance for the help!
