I thought it was cold down here at 2 below but then I got to looking at some other temps around the state - 8 below in Quincy, 15 below in Pontiac, 19 below in Peoria, 26 below in Hinckley. Almost makes the southern part of the state feel HOT....almost.
Be careful out there!
This was yesterday morning..last night we were supposed to have broken -30.. (EDIT: 7:15 AM -31.0 °F) Wow. The fog was freezing this morning on the way in (-28F), definitely be careful!!

Not as cold as Albany, but once you get below -25, what a couple of degrees?
My boss said he spit out the window of his truck and it blew back in as snow. That's pretty cold!
20 below out here on the southside last night. I am sure glad I was off yesterday and today. We had a good fire Wednesday and I have the radio on and hear a ton of fires in the southern Chicagoland area today. I worked the coldest day in Chicago history in 1985 and we had some real bitter weather in the late 70's and 80's. but this was pretty nasty.
Once you get into the negative teens and below unless you look at the temp it's all just too cold to function in. haha
