Reminds me of a story I heard from the Brits when we were stationed in Cyprus, back in '88. Story goes that one of their mates was sent home a bit early from an exercise. He found the Missus doing what oughter NOT be doing, so he went back to the tank park, signed out a Challenger and "took a tour through the married quarters"..... and his house.

Apparently he stopped short of driving through the bedroom areas though.

There was some comment about being taken away in the "big white box-car with a special fitted long-sleeve jacket".

They're "only" $53,000.00 USD from Dillon Aero(I checked) but they get you on ammo costs.
I think they have a discount if you buy a reloading machine to "roll yer own".

Three guys I've known since Basic and "A" school have told me this so there might be something to it.
No sh**,guys. This really happened.I seen it myself.I heard of an RM on a boomer tender that would date "deployment widows" whose husbands were in a boomer's Gold or Blue crews.
Translation for those who've never been in the US Navy:Once upon a time, there was a radioman on a missile submarine support ship who only dated women whose husbands were at sea in the alternating crews that man missile submarines.
When a submarine would leave for patrol,he'd watch the pier and that evening,he'd go to area clubs until he found a "depolyment widow" whose husband was at sea and date her for the duration.
He would handle radio traffic from the subs that his ship supported and when the boat would call in at the end of their deployment to request a berth assignment and shoreside power services,he'd know to break it off with his current girlfriend.
After the crews did their changeover and the boomer was heading back to her patrol area,he'd repeat the process.
He figured he had a pretty sweet deal because if he was out on the town with his "Blue" crew girlfriend and his "Gold" crew girlfriend saw them while she was with her husband, what was she going to do?Run up to,slap him and call him a cheating bustard and pull the other woman's hair out in front of her husband?
Eventually,he got found out when the wives' club had a meeting at a local bar and someone who had just one shot too many of tequila discussed it and someone else told her husband about it when he got back.
I am told that since numerous boomer sailors were making threats against the entire communications department on that tender, they had to get the Marines to escort him after his sudden transfer to another ship that was heading to Antarctica where they were to leave him for a couple years until it all blew over.

Some of those gut burner meals they served STILL affect me today.
