I am an Explorer Post President in Massachusetts. Right now the two main Post objectives are to raise money for new gear, and to improve and start training under Mass. FF I & II. I was just wondering if anyone had some long term Training or Fundraising Ideas. FYI, we have seven members in a very small town, and have been a post for 10 Months now.
Contact other area departments and see what equipment they have that could possibly be donated. Thats a good place to start.
In my opinion it is not the responsibility of the explorer post to handle fire training. That is something that should be handled by the fire department itself.
Applebees and Walmart are our 2 big fundraiser supporters, check w/ them
Every Other Monday our Explorer Post Members attend Fire Dept. Trainings, but, Every other Thursday we have a business meeting for about a half hour and then a training for two hours.
If I were looking for fundraising or training ideas on FH, I'd use the search feature. I'm positive it would work wonders and bring up a bunch of threads regarding these topics.
There's hundreds of threads regarding training around here... And they all have some good ideas. It's the same for fundraising too. I found 1,400 threads with the words "explorer training" and another 1,400 with "explorer fundraising." Try using different combination of words when searching.
