Default Any single apparatus manufacturer departments?

Doing a little research for our departments apparatus committee, trying to find any medium to large departments that use a single manufacturer for all of their current and future frontline fleet. In addition, if anyone knows why they are using only manufacturer, or any kind of information like that, would help. I've tried a search on here with no real success.

    Thanks for your time.

Greensboro, NC uses nothing but Sutphen for it's Aerials.

    Default K Mart Express

City of Pittsburgh has recently begun to swith over to KME. They purchased a few other mfgs. but mainly because their fleet was is such bad shape they needed something fast.

All those that run single manufacturer rigs, must have some very happy mechanics/servicers. :-)

The biggest reasons for having a single manufacturer is for maintanence purposes. You dont need a stock pile of different parts/filters etc. If everything is the same the different amount of parts needed is less. It is also easier on the maintanence staff of only having to know the one brand.

East Pierce Fire and Rescue is all Pierce at the staffed stations, save for the ladder which was purchased by another dept. we have since merged with.

All medic units are Northstar Ford E450s.
The opinions are mine alone, and do not represent the department I am with, or any firefighters I work with.

I read somewhere that the City of Eugene (Oregon) has a contract to buy Pierce for future purchases. Already all pierce and they have alocal dealer that caters to them every chance they get. Now CIty of Salem (Oregon) used to be pierce, just replace all engines with KME and regret ever since.
