    Default additonal Pay for Certification

I was hoping you guys could help me out. I am looking for information for contractual issues on whether or not you guys get additional pay, stipend or "hazard pay". We are mostly concerned with technical rescue and Hazmat related pay. Currently we do not have any of these benefits and were hoping to use the info you guys provide me to help in a fight against a tax reform group making a push to vote our budget down and get their people elected to fire commission. Imagine that, they are out to vote down even a 0% increase!!! Our department made some serious adjustments to get the budget were it is and if it gets voted down, we will probably have to lay people off! If you could, provide me with the specifics from the info above along with the department you belong to. All help is greatly appreciated!

    Paramedic Certification $0.325/hr (56-hour employee)
Paramedic Assigned to EC $1.496/hr (56-hour employee, includes cert pay)
EMT Assigned to EC $0.781 (56-hour employee)

    Covering EC Unit
    Paramedic $1.339/hr
    EMT $0.892/hr

Certification pay for Haz-Mat, Technical Rescue, Building Inspection, Fire Investigation, and sworn Mechanics with EVT certifications: $0.35/hour (56-hour employee) or $0.56/hour (40-hour employee)

All paramedics get the paramedic certification pay. You only get one certification pay. If you are rescue and haz-mat you only get $0.35/hour.

    Hope this helps.
