I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I am a collector of vintage material (mostly pre-war baseball) but an array of different items. I bought this piece (pic should be attached) under the assumption it was a baseball player's belt from the 1860's-1870's. I've been told by a few people that it is in fact a fireman's belt. I was curious if anyone here may have some knowledge in vintage fireman's attire and if in fact this is a fireman's belt (and if so possible time period?)
Any help would be appreicated. With it not being baseball I'll eventually try to move it, but wouldn't want the wrong information out to a buyer.
