Nope. I was told last night that we should have heard by now.

I wish they would send a note either way. At least I won't be kept waiting and hoping. Just give it to me straight.

I can say with 100% certainty that they were still giving notices as of today, 05-13-10...

I was told today that the top 120 scorers will be contacted to participate in the polygraph. They started contacting people this week and will continue to contact people over the next couple of weeks.

Has anyone heard anything this week? Just to confirm what Cincy said. I'm not trying to be too hopeful.

Received an email today, results are taking longer than anticipated from the oral boards. If you are in the top 120 you will be scheduled for a polygraph and receive an email by June 7th to schedule your polygraph test. Final scores will be emailed to everyone at a later date.

Good luck to those still in the running.

The ones moving on were scheduled for the polygraph by June 7th. If you were not scheduled for a poly by that date, were not moving on. Final scores will be sent out at a later date. Good luck to all moving on.

Pat, just saw your previous post, my bad. I didn't know you were asking about moving on after the poly, good luck.

    Update on some things:

With the city getting the 6.9 million award for FF positions, they had to apply for waivers to use that money to replace FFs lost through attrition instead of adding to the present staffing. As of right now the DHS is only granting waivers as the specific position is vacated. Presently they have granted 8 waivers with the city applying for 4 more.

Presently the city administration has not accepted this grant. Apparently they want a guarantee that all 40 positions will be granted waivers. The Union has a meeting coming up where they will make a presentation on the need for a plan to replace staffing and why this waiver is necessary. That is coming up I believe on Wednesday.

I don't know what all this would mean for a class. If the city did not want to spend one cent on hiring they might only hire how many waivers they have which could be 12, 16, 20 just depending on how many people retire.

If they do not accept this grant they will likely not hire since there is no money budgeted for this. With the city having another projected loss, without this waiver, layoffs will be another hot topic.

This is the latest info on what is going on. Keep continuing this process as you never know what may happen.

I got a notice today, six weeks after my poly, that I am being disqualified from the process for "controlling my breathing" during the test and that it is considered cheating. Good luck to those of you still in the process.

You are f****** kidding right? I would call the civil service or human resources and file a complaint and appeal it.

I recieved notice by email and have an appeal for next week. Not putting much hope into it, they have had 60 appeals in the last 3 months and the civil service commision has not overturned any. I have pretty much turned it over to my attorney.
