Default Will a 1 time criminal record from 7 years ago affect my ability to be hired?

I am wanting to go to school for structural fire and ems. I am wondering though if my felony conviction for possession of marijuana will exclude me from being hired? This was a conviction from 7 years ago and in the state of Oregon. I am in the process of having this expunged . If anyone has information regarding this question please respond. Thank you.

    Hey there,

I am currently in the FF hiring process and from what I've hear is that a felony is something thats a dis qualifier.

I'd run a background check on yourself

    hop that helps
