Joseph Lesinski

Joseph T. Lesinski (originally Leszczynski) age 74 of Limerick Township (formerly a longtime resident of E. Norriton) died on Feb. 19, 2009 at Pottstown Hospital.

Born in Conshohocken on April 12, 1934 he was the son of the late Ted and Laura Lesinski and is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rosalie (nee Bacchi).

Mr. Lesinski was a charter member and president of the “usher’s group” of Saint Titus Parish. He was proud to have set up the first chair for the first Mass held in the hall of the Norriton Fire Engine Company in 1963.

Mr. Lesinski was a volunteer firefighter, actively serving since 1952. He was a Life Member of the Washington Fire Company and joined the Norriton Fire Engine Company in 1954 and became a life member in 1975.

He served as Training Officer, Assistant Chief, and Deputy or Fire Chief for a period of 17 years as well as a Fire Instructor with Montgomery Fire Training Academy since 1964.

Mr. Lesinski was awarded the Chief’s Award (twice), President’s Award, and a special Lifetime Achievement Award in 2003. He also served as a State Fire Instructor where he was awarded “Instructor of the Year” for the PA Keystone Instructor Association in 2003.

He retired in 2004 after a long career in medical marketing. Above all, he was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was a Philadelphia Sports fan and enjoyed his grandchildren’s sports and activities.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons: Russell (Barbara) of Schwenksville, Joe (Joyce) of Upper Providence, daughters: Laura (Tony) Zoccola of Limerick, Leah (Mark) DeLucia, of Collegeville, and Maria (Tim) Beehler of Limerick.

He is also survived by a brother Ted of Schwenksville and sister Helen Altieri of Limerick and 19 grandchildren: Anthony (Peggy) Zoccola of Irvine, CA; Joey, Timmy and Marie Zoccola of Limerick; Matthew, Dana, Katie and Maggie Lesinski of Limerick; Mark, Jennifer and Paul DeLucia of Collegeville; Erin and Michael Shields, Christopher and Elizabeth Beehler of Limerick; and Eric, Andrew, Maddie, and Heather Lesinski of Upper Providence.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Mr. Lesinski’s Life Celebration on Monday from 7 to 9 PM at the Boyd-Horrox Funeral Home, 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown and on Tuesday from 9 to 10:30 AM at St. Eleanor’s Catholic Church, 701 Locust Street in Collegeville, interment Limerick Gardens.
