    Default PG County VFD Ride-Alongs

I will be visiting the PG County/DC area in a few months and I was wondering if any of the volunteer fire departments in that area do ride-alongs. Is this possible? If so, who do I contact? Thank you.

they all do, just call ahead to the firehouse and ask if you can ride along, the Battalion Chief and Chief of Department have to sign a waiver..I believe.

Is there a specific department that anyone would recommend riding with? Thanks.

Lots of good departments up that way. Check out some of the websites to see who does what (truck/squad/engine).

You should probably check before you come down. I thought I had heard that they suspended the ride-along program. I'm sure that somebody from up that way can confirm or deny.

The ride along program has been reinstated it just requires alot more paperwork than it used to.

My recommendation is check out the particular station that interest you and contact them about doing a ride along.

i would def. say ride with kentland volunteer fire company. http://www.kentland33.com/ they run anywhere from 400 and 500 calls a month and are still 100% volunteer. I know a couple of people that rode there and they said it was the best time they ever had. They said they ran calls the whole time they was there.
