    Default Confused Completing Grant Close-Out

We have a 2007 Operations and Safety Grant for PPE that I'm in the process of closing out. We have an approved grant amendment for a Fire Prevention Project for the last $2,012 of funds, which we spent, and received payment for, but now when I reconcile the close-out, there doesn't seem to be an appropriate place to report the Fire Prevention Amendment activity.

We purchased a fire extinguisher training unit, but there aren't appropriate drop-downs or reporting lines to report this in either the "training" or "equipment" categories, and since this is a Fire Prevention activity, and NOT an Operations and Safety Activity, those wouldn't be appropriate places to report anyway...

Has anyone else on this forum ever struggled with how to report the Fire Prevention amendment to an Operations and Safety Grant? I sent a note to the AFG Helpdesk, so i may hear something from them over the next few days, and I was planning on calling the Region II AFG Grant Office tomorrow, but I figured that someone here might have the obvious answer that I'm missing.

here's the road for ya.....in the closeout go to "request details" section, go to "equipment" and fill out the appropriate equipment that you purchased....the fire extinguisher prop will most likely be put under the "other specialized" equipment area, and you will have a place to explain the fire extinguisher purchase....hope that helps....

Don't wait for the AFG portal mail to get received. Still waiting on a reply from August. Call.

I've got SEVERAL mesages that I'm still waiting replys to. I guess that the only reason that I send them messages is so that it's "on the record" that I attempted to contact them with a question, and that if there's a question of "timelyness", the problem is on their lap!

I agree on documentation, which is why I submitted them through the portal. However, my Regional Rep has told me "it takes months."

    Default Now THIS is funny!

So I called the AFG Grants Office this morning, as discussed above, and lo-and-behold, IT'S SNOWING IN DC!!! I managed to get somone on the phone, who was actually fairly helpful, but he needed to transfer me to someone else, for on last piece of information... The first person that I talked to said that I'd likely get Voice Mail, because almost 2/3rds of the staff was out BECAUSE THEY GOT 4" to 5" OF SNOW! He said that 4-5" of snow PARALIZED DC!!

My God, People! That's a DUSTING in other parts of the country! At leats I got a good laugh out of the entire thing.....

I had to do the same thing that steelman had stated. It sucked because I had $11,000 for fire prevention to enter. The guy told me that someone forgot to enable the part where fire prevention items get added after the amendment was approved.

4 to 5 inches is still push broom material.
Don't need the snow blower till you get into measuring the snow with a yardstick.

It is funny that when the southerners get a slight dusting they go into panic mode and declare a disaster. Schools closed ,grocery stores emptied highways closed.

It's also funny how northerners like to post the same message twice

I clicked it once and nothing happened so after a while , i clicked send and then it took both.
When I lived in Mesquite as a kid we had just enough snow to cover the grass and you would have thought it was 3 feet of snow the way they panicked. Dallas was shut down for two days until it melted.
