New from NWI

Hey guys. I'm from St. John, IN. I've been on the department since Dec, 08. I've been trying to get on since I was 18, but the town doesn't have a junior program so I had to wait until I was 20. I have two older brothers who are also firefighters, one is also an EMT. I've wanted to join the fire service since I was a little kid and this has always been a dream of mine. I'm taking my Basic Mandatory test tomorrow night, and can't wait to finally get on an apparatus and learn hands on. You can only learn so much in a classroom and I'm very excited to learn. We have a lot of great members on the department and they've all taken me under their wings and been the greatest group of guys I could have as teachers.
