Was just wondering what the status was on ya'lls "house" additions. Hope all is well with it, but if the weather is there what it has been here, the rain would have slowed the progress way down. Looking forward to hearing about it.

Well the road bed been raised up and repaved. The standpipe been roughed in. The sump station has been moved and the footers have been poured. It shouldn't be much longer before the steel starts going up. Now if we can just get the heat turned on in the old part of the building. . . . . .

Well we are running a little behind with all the rain that we have had, the concrete has been pushed back until this coming Tuesday, but they have got all of the lines run for the heated floor. The new parking lot on the right side of the building is also ready to be paved, but that will have to wait until the spring. (Asphalt plant is closed for the winter)

Once the concrete is poured the steel will go up in no time. Was glad that App State got to keep the jug again when they beat Western a couple weeks ago. Keep em straight down there.

Oh, by the way our substation is also almost complete. It should be up and running by the first of Feb. And before some of you stroke out, only the last two bays are going to be ours. The rest of the building belongs to the Jackson County Rescue Squad/Unit 1. Those guys have really work hard obtaining their new building and have done a great job. Hats off to the Men and Women of the Squad.

This what you can achieve when you are willing to work together. Thanks go out to the Sylva Town Board, the Jackson County Board of Commissioners, The Men and Women of the Jackson County Rescue Squad, the Boys at the Sylva Fire Dept. and last but not least the Citizens of Jackson County. If it was not for these groups of fine people we would not have what we have or be getting the new substation and the addition to our current building. In these tough times, I know that we are fortunate and are truly blessed to live in a community with such fine people.
